Surrender- A Poem, By Alexia Jasmene

Breathing tensely trying to keep back the feeling of feeling good,

Too friendly with pain and shame to allow myself to feel fine again,

I breathe deeper as I take in your flow of expression feeling, taken...

I breathe into my depths melting deep glaciers

That then exhale into vaporized suffering and shame.

You lock eyes and I see you too in the grips of allowing yourself to melt,

So we did, melt…

Into an oasis of pleasure rarely seen under the sun.

Evaporating my need for control I surrender,

And give you my all.

Your touch melting my body,

Your kiss warming my soul,

And your taking,

Well,

You take my heart,

Allowing courageous vulnerability in

And I breathe.

Breathe so I can heal and let go of my misery.

Breathe so I can hold space for all the joy and pain.

Breathe so I can love…

I feel I may help you similarly too,

By giving you space to breathe,

And surrender to being seen.
